Reviewing Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft for Players and DMs: A Mastering Dungeons Index

Cover art, by Anna Podedworna

On the Mastering Dungeons podcast, Shawn Merwin and I examined what Van Richten’s Guide to Ravenloft offered to players and Dungeon Masters. From fantastic guidance for running horror games, to the included adventure, to subclasses and Dark Gifts for players, we break down the design and how to make the most of it in your games. You can also find my review on how Roll20 implements the book.

On our podcast we review the news, then cover Van Richten’s. We started with Chapter 4, since it does such a good job of establishing how horror should be run. Here the table of contents, along with a link to the episodes.
