Learn to Play Daggerheart in 5 Rooms

A spellcaster weaves fire – art by Nikki Dawes

Want to learn to play Daggerheart? In this video I use the Learn-to-Play in 5 Rooms technique to teach the basics of Critical Role’s new RPG. You can watch the video to learn the basics yourself, or use this as a model to teach the game to others.

You can hear me playing Daggerheart with my level 6 rogue on the D20Play channel, and you can find official Daggerheart resources, including pregens and an adventure, here.

I recently covered how to play Deadlands in 5 rooms as well.

I’ve really been enjoying putting the 5-Room Learn to Play technique into practice. Let me know if there are other RPGs you are interested in learning, especially if they are RPGs I’ve mentioned as recently playing on the Mastering Dungeons podcast. I’m considering the Free League games I’ve run and played recently (Alien, Blade Runner) or perhaps Pirate Borg?

And, if you have played Daggerheart, I’m curious to hear how the game has worked for you and how easy you found it was to learn.

    Hi,
cool series! The games I am most interested in are Shadowdark, Pirate Borg and Worlds Without Numbers. But I probably will check out any future entries, as its a really good way to get to know different games, which is always great.
